About Eliana

I am in the youth orcestra and also in a string quartet. I attend a music camp in the summer. My favorite color is bright green and I love to read. My mom is from Michigan and my dad has lived in Los Angeles all his life. He's Mexican and my mom is Jewish and we own four wonderful goofy cats and a rabbit which we found in my front yard seven years ago. His name is Sam.

Accomplishments

When I was just about to turn nine I auditioned for the L.A. youth orchestra. I was so nervous and I doubted that I'd get in. I was waiting to find out if I did, but the wait felt endless. But soon enough the conductor came out and said I did get in! I was so excited and so were my parents. It was one of the best days ever. Since then, I have performed in a lot of places with the orchestra.

My Future

When I grow up I want to be in a string quartet and I want to publish a book. I'm actually writing one now and my real dream is to get it published in the next few years.

Question of the Month

Why is playing an instrument a good thing?

I feel playing an instrument is good because it's such an amazing feeling you get when you have the chance to play a piece for someone. People are just as excited to hear you as you are to play for them. And playing an instrument is so unique even though lots of people play an instrument as a hobby.

Favorite Piece

My favorite piece to play is the Brandenburg concerto number 3, movement 1. It's such a happy piece and at one point it seems as if Bach was angry while writing it, but then he had a good day because the end is happy and exciting once more. Bach is my favorite composer because I like to play and listen to his music.

Favorite Things

I love to play the violin, write, and being outside. My favorite food is my mom's risotto and I love her chocolate chip cookies too! I don't really watch television but my favorite movie is "Super 8". I could watch it an infinite amount of times and never get tired of it.
