About Seneca

My family and I travel a lot. Recently, Ireland was a favorite place that we visited. I like to play Irish and Scottish fiddle music on my violin.

My younger sister is named Lyric and and my younger brother is named Torrin. We have many pets to play with too. We have a turtle, cat, dog, and rabbit. 

Accomplishments

Having to deal with my vision impairment and learning to play the piano, violin, and ukulele are my biggest accomplishments. Learning to play music is more of a challenge in certain ways, but easier in others. I read music in Braille, but my sense of hearing and touch are much more sensitive - which is good for learning an instrument.

The Braille Magazine wrote an article about me and posted my picture on their bus. That was a great accomplishment! Also, I am an honor roll student and I'm pretty proud of that. 

My Future

I would like to study music and conduct my own orchestra one day. Another important goal of mine is to have one of the pieces I composed published and played by the orchestra conducted by me. I also really like making jewelry and would like to have my own jewelry line. 

I really like to make people smile and laugh. If it's one thing that makes me unique is that I'm a good teacher. I like to teach my friends and family new things that I have learned - whether it's a game, an instrument, or a basic fact.

Why is playing an instrument a good thing?

Studying an instrument is a good thing because you learn how to physically play music. It helps you connect to all music you hear. Studying one instrument also inspires you to learn another one. Learning more instruments after learning one comes easier as well. 

Favorite Piece

My favorite piece to play is Greensleeves. A lot of people recognize it and like it, and it's fun to entertain with both the violin and piano. Also, I love music from The Sound of Music. Edelweiss is one of my favorites!

Vivaldi, Mozart, and Beethoven are my favorite composers. They all have created masterpieces that are timeless and which are enjoyed by people around the world.

Hobbies

I have many hobbies! At the top of my list is playing my instruments and creating music. I not only play music, but I compose as well. I have composed several of my own pieces already, and there are more to come. I just started horseback riding lessons and I love it! I really like being with animals - especially horses. That's why I really like watching any show on Animal Planet. Swimming, hiking, rock climbing are all things I love to do. My family and I like to do many activities outdoors. Anything that has to do with arts & crafts is another favorite past-time. Jewelry making is fun and I make lots of cool stuff. A favorite TV show of mine is Scooby Doo. I love Mac & Cheese and brownies!
