FREE Residency Program Winners - 2015

Selection of the Winners was based on the educational potential for the youth orchestra and the larger community. Classics Alive Foundation is delighted to underwrite the total cost of each residency which is valued at $5,000. Congratulations to all of the orchestras.

And the 2015 Winners are:

Cape Symphony Youth Orchestra - Hyannis, MA - Directed by Jung-Ho Pak - The youth orchestra performs all over the Cape for youth centers, civic events, and educational programs.

Reading Symphony Youth Orchestra - Reading, PA - Directed by Peter Brye - The youth orchestra has had 5 tours of Europe since 2001, including the UK, Italy, and Central Europe.

Each residency will last 3-4 days. Over the course of that time, Ms Deutsch will participate in a wide variety of activities and community engagement activities with the students of the youth orchestra. Activities will include Q & A sessions, masterclasses, sectional coachings, discussions about "Career Paths In Music" and "Audience Development", visits to schools in the community, and much more. Each residency will culminate in a final performance with the youth orchestra or a solo recital.
