Ms. Deutsch received both a bachelor’s and a master’s degree at USC in kinesiology where she completed original research studying the biomechanics of violin players. She then went on to earn another master's degree in violin performance at UCLA. She is currently in the PhD program at UCLA for violin performance.

Ms. Deutsch also concurrently has a full private teaching studio where she teaches both private and group lessons to young children ages three and up. She has also taught at the college level as an assistant at both USC and UCLA. Ms. Deutsch recently joined with LA’s Best, a program which teaches violin to underprivileged elementary school students.

Ms. Deutsch consults with individuals and organizations on music education program planning, curriculum planning, and writing of grant requests.

Kevin Bennett is the owner of Cupertino Strings, a San Francisco bay area violin studio specializing in American and European instruments. 

In addition to his advisory role for Classics Alive, Mr. Bennett serves as an adviser to the Joseph Rashid Foundation, a non-profit promoting the seven decades of violin making by American master luthier Joseph Rashid.

Born in Poland, Agnieszka (Eska) Laskus came to the United States at the age of 10. She completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Miami, majoring in violin and economics. She then went on to receive her Master's Degree in Violin Performance as a Graduate Assistant at Arizona State University. Ms. Laskus has performed with many symphony orchestras including Miami Symphony Orchestra, Florida Grand Opera, Phoenix Symphony and is currently a member of the Arizona Opera.

In addition to being an active performer, Ms. Laskus has also been a part of various nonprofit organizations. Before moving to Los Angeles, she was the Performing Arts intern at The Arizona Commission on the Arts where she managed a professional development program for Arizona artists through the Creative Capital Foundation and assisted with research projects. She served as the Festival Coordinator for the Polish Music Council and acted as the editorial assistant of Ruch Muzyczny, a Polish classical music magazine. As the Assistant for Admissions at The Colburn School, she was instrumental in student recruitment and application management. Ms. Laskus currently lives in Pasadena, California and has an active private teaching studio for violin students of all ages.

 

Richard Young has been soloist with various orchestras and has performed throughout North and South America, Europe, the Far East, Africa, and Australia.  Since 1985 he has been the violist of the renowned Vermeer String Quartet. 

Mr. Young has recorded over three dozen works for Teldec, Naxos, Orion, Cedille, Vox, Musical Heritage, Angelicum, and Alden Productions.  He has received three Grammy nominations, and was the producer of the Vermeer Quartet’s CD of Haydn’s The Seven Last Words of Christ. He is also the author of a best-selling book entitled Echoes from Calvary, published by Rowman & Littlefield.  He has taught at Northern Illinois University, the University of Michigan, Northwestern University, North Park University, and was chairman of the string faculty at Oberlin Conservatory.  He is also a Fellow of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England.  Mr. Young also does a substantial amount of volunteer and outreach work in inner-city Chicago for the benefit of disadvantaged children.
